Case Study

Custom Course Engine

A course creator needed to deliver her programme without renting a platform that owns her learners and skims every sale. We built her a custom engine instead — an AI coach in every lesson, a recruiter-ready credential at the end, and every learner and every euro staying hers.

A custom-built course platform with AI coaching and a shareable credential, owned by the creator

What we built around: An experienced educator came to us with a proven method and a problem every off-the-shelf platform shares: they own your learners' data, take a cut of every sale, and box you into a template that can't build the one thing that makes your course special. So we didn't rent a platform — we built an engine, shaped around her method, that she owns outright.

She had the course — the content, the method, the years of expertise. The quick path was a platform like Teachable or Kajabi. But those hold your learners' data, skim every sale, and can't build the two things that made her course different: an AI coach in every lesson, and a shareable credential the learner assembles as they go. So we built the engine instead of renting the platform — her course, her metrics, her payments, her data.

Owns it all Learners, payments, and data on her own accounts — no platform cut

Before

What renting a platform would have cost her

  • A monthly platform fee plus a cut of every single sale
  • Her learners' data living in someone else's system
  • Locked into their templates — no AI coaching, no custom credential
  • The very thing that made her course special: impossible to build
After

A course engine that is actually hers

  • Learners buy through her own payment system — one price, lifetime access, no middleman
  • An AI coach in every lesson that turns thin answers into recruiter-ready work
  • Each lesson's work assembles into a shareable, recruiter-facing credential
  • Her own metrics — completion, drop-off, where learners struggle — without reading their private work
  • All of it on her accounts, her domain, her data

What this looks like day-to-day

Learners get coached, not just lectured

Every lesson has an AI coach that reads what the learner writes and pushes it from 'that'll do' to something a recruiter would actually be impressed by.

They walk away with proof, not just a certificate

The work from each lesson assembles into a public, shareable credential the learner owns — not a badge sitting in someone else's database.

She keeps every learner and every euro

Payments run through her own system and learners live in her own accounts — no platform taking a cut or holding her audience hostage.

She sees what is working without watching people

Her own analytics show completion, where learners drop off, and where they struggle — measured from metadata, never by reading anyone's private work.

A course delivery system, built end to end

Behind the course is a full learning platform we designed and built around her method:

  1. An AI coach in every lesson

One coaching engine, configured per lesson — it self-checks, audits, reframes, or reflects depending on the exercise, and every lesson ends with a real artefact the learner has made.

  2. A credential that assembles itself

As the learner works through the course, each artefact drops into a dashboard. At the end, one click turns it into a public, recruiter-facing credential — no login needed to view it.

  3. Her own payments and access

Checkout handles the sale, a magic link logs the learner in, and a long-lived session keeps them in — so buying, access, and persistence are all hers, wired together cleanly.

  4. Metrics without surveillance

A private analytics layer reports completion, drop-off, and difficulty patterns from metadata alone — she sees how the course is landing without ever reading a learner's personal work.

  5. Running on infrastructure she owns

Video, email, payments, database, domain — all on her own accounts. If she ever stopped working with us, the platform keeps running and the bills come to her.
